Earthshine - Chapter One: The Hospital
I woke slowly, my eyes adjusting to the scene around me. Everything in the room was white and smelt like anti-bacterial, and the window I could just see the top of was open, with a light breeze ruffling its bleached curtains. As my body woke up, my hearing suddenly kicked in, and I heard a female voice and a male voice talking in hushed tones beside me. I tried to turn my head, but a searing pain from my chest broke out. I groaned in pain but my voice came out quiet and croaky. The man suddenly swept into my view, placing a soothing cold hand on my chest. I faintly heard him usher away the woman, and the click of a door closing. He turned bac

Despite the twenty-four hour flight, I bounced out of my seat with an enthusiasm that earned me surprised and irritated glances from the other passengers, and even one or two of the flight attendants.
I didn't mind the looks I got. I was back in Washington - Seattle, in fact - and I was only a couple of hours from home. Home, and the one person in the world it hurt me to be away from. Thinking of Chase had me struggling with a crazy impulse to sprint down the aisle and leap off the plane. Two weeks away from him and I was slowly going mad. I truly could not wait to see his face.
A slight frown flitted across my face. Why I'd let him convinc
The wind was blowing gently over the wide open plains of the Thunder Ranch in Colorado. A beautiful woman was standing on a nearby ridge, watching a small herd of American bison graze on the last dying blades of grass before the winter would kill it off. She closed her eyes in pleasure and the wind blew her long auburn hair away from her face. She opened her eyes and she watched as her favourite bison, Thunder, whom she had raised herself from a calf, lead the group towards the rock cleft in the mountain, to the right of the ridge for the night. The girl looked towards the setting sun, dying the blue sky orange, red, pink and gold. Her sister
A month ago, the scene unfolding in front of me would have been completely unbelievable. As it was, I had the urge to pinch myself so I would wake up from this dream. But I knew I wasn't dreaming.
Vampires don't dream.
A mere three days ago, I had been, if not exactly normal, at least completely human. I had been mortal, relatively weak, and determined to save my suicidal vampire best friend. I had refused to logically consider the consequences, even though Alice had laid them bare for me. She had warned me that my werewolf blood might make vampire venom poisonous rather than transformative. She told me I wouldn't be able to find a va
My first clear memory is not an entirely pleasant one. I was six years old and my somewhat annoying younger brother, Connor, was two. All of us (me, my parents, and Connor) packed into the car with only the vague explanation of going to visit "an old friend of mom's". Normally, I would have peppered mom with questions for the entire ride, but I noticed she seemed tense. And dad was beyond tense; he looked like he was about to clench his jaw so hard, he would crack his teeth. I knew when it was a bad idea to push things.
The drive seemed to take forever. We passed into Forks and I became slightly annoyed. I didn't see why all this dr

"Your party isn't over sweetie. Are you sure you want to go out right now? You didn't even say good bye to your family and friends." As Camalia slipped on her coat she gave her mother a kind look, as if suggesting that she had done so even if she hadn't.
"I'm just going to go take a quick walk around the shops. With all these people here I could use some fresh air as well."Her dark hazel eyes searched for her mother as her head popped out from her coat.
"Okay then. Make sure you get back soon though. Your father called and he'll be back soon with the cake." Her mother paused for a brief few moments before starting to tear up. "I can't bel

Please do not compare me to that girl I keep hearing around! Just because I'm a new girl, people automatically assume my life will be the same as this girl named Bella Swan. The new girl of Forks High School, ordinary girl who was praised by classmates and curious if she is different to the Forks, Washington lifestyle, falls in love with the hottest guy in their class and have that hot guy fall in love with her, then get married, the end.
Besides, Bella graduated high school like five years ago right? Yet her story made a great impression on everybody. The great Bella Swan who married the great Edward Cullen. Barf! This i
I am seeking a beta for my fanfiction. I need someone who is critical but open minded to ideas not in Meyer's original works. If this sounds like you, please note me.
